Your written quotation always takes precedence where it says something specific. ## About these terms These terms apply to surveys, written estimates and building works provided by Intell Roofing & Building Ltd, company number 15471708, registered at 116 Chatham Grove, Chatham, Kent, ME4 6LZ. Where your written quotation contains terms specific to your job, those specific terms take precedence over anything general on this page. They also cover your use of this website. Nothing on this website is an offer to carry out work at a stated price; prices are given only in a written estimate following a survey. ## Surveys and estimates Our survey and written estimate are free of charge and carry no obligation on either side. We survey the property to identify the cause of the problem before pricing a remedy. An estimate sets out the specification, the works included and the price. It is valid for the period stated on the document. Where a survey cannot reach part of the structure: beneath a floor, inside a wall or a roof void without safe access, that limitation is noted, and anything found once the area is opened up is priced separately and agreed with you in writing before it is carried out. Work not described in your estimate is not included in the price. Where you ask for additional work during the job, we will confirm the extra cost in writing before proceeding. ## Accepting a quotation A contract is formed when you accept our written quotation in writing, by email or in person, and we confirm a start date. At that point the price, specification and expected duration set out in the quotation apply. Start and completion dates are our honest expectations. They can be affected by weather, scaffold and access availability, material lead times, and anything unforeseen found in the structure. We will keep you informed if a date needs to move. ## Your responsibilities Please give us safe access to the property and the work areas on the agreed dates, clear the working areas of belongings where we have asked you to, and tell us about anything relevant we could not reasonably see: previous repairs, hidden services, cables or pipework in walls, or structural concerns. Where the work needs consent: listed building consent, conservation area approval, planning permission, party wall agreement or building regulations approval, obtaining it is your responsibility unless your quotation states that we are handling it. We will tell you at survey stage where we believe consent is likely to be needed. ## Payment Payment terms, including any deposit, staged payments and the final balance, are set out in your written quotation and invoice. We do not take payment through this website. Where payment stages are agreed, each stage falls due on completion of that stage. Title in materials supplied passes to you on payment for them. ## Variations, cancellation and cooling-off Either party may agree a variation to the works in writing. Where a variation changes the price or duration, we will confirm the revised figures before carrying out the varied work. As a consumer entering into a contract away from our business premises, you have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of accepting the quotation. If you ask us to begin work inside that period and then cancel, we may charge for the work carried out and materials supplied up to that point. Cancellation notices should be sent to info@intellroofingandbuilding.co.uk or given by telephone on 07460 072891. ## Guarantees and workmanship Our work is carried out with reasonable skill and care using materials appropriate to the construction of your property. Any guarantee that applies to your job: what it covers, for how long, and anything excluded, is confirmed in writing on your quotation. Please keep that document, as it is the record of what was agreed. Guarantees do not cover damage caused by storm, accident, structural movement, third-party work carried out after ours, or a failure to maintain items such as gutters and downpipes. Manufacturer product warranties are passed to you where they apply and are subject to the manufacturer's own terms. If you believe something is not right, tell us as soon as you notice it and give us the opportunity to inspect and put it right before instructing anyone else. ## Liability We are responsible for loss or damage caused by our failure to use reasonable skill and care. We are not liable for pre-existing defects we were not engaged to remedy, for consequential damage arising from a defect you did not tell us about, or for delay caused by matters outside our reasonable control. Nothing in these terms limits or excludes liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. Your statutory rights as a consumer are unaffected. ## Complaints, and law If something goes wrong, contact us first on 07460 072891 or info@intellroofingandbuilding.co.uk so we can look into it and put it right. Where work was arranged through Checkatrade, their own complaints process is also available to you.
